I’m currently a math teacher in South San Francisco Unified and have been teaching for the past 4 years. My first experience as a tutor was as a freshman in high school, and I haven’t stopped tutoring since then! As a teacher, I’ve been lucky enough to have taught both math and Chinese to K-12 students. Although teaching two different subjects to such a wide age group was at times difficult, this challenge was right up my alley. I specialized in secondary mathematics instruction for my Masters Degree at the USC Rossier School of Education, and Chinese is my native language. As a tutor, I expect my students to work hard and be dedicated. I believe that no subject is too difficult as long enough effort is put in. I only have a few students at a time, and most tend to stick around for quite a while. I’m always sad when they leave for college, but even then, they call me from time to time for help! The beauty of learning 1 on 1 is that the student is able to set the pace of the lessons.
