University of California, Santa Barbara: BS, Biochemistry University California, Berkeley & University of California, San Francisco: PhD, Bioengineering (in progress)
Experience
3.87 Undergraduate GPA (Biochemistry major) I received A grades in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Quantum Chemistry, Calculus, Linear Algebra, and more. After college, and before I began my PhD, I spent several years working for a pharmaceutical company helping to make anti-cancer drugs. I have years of experience working in labs, putting my knowledge to practical use. During this time I have mentored undergraduates, teaching them experimental protocols as well as the underlying concepts. I find it useful to connect the concepts with their real-world applications in getting myself and my students motivated.

Hobbies
Growing up, I was always taking music lessons, where I was taught to focus on the difficult portions, repeating individual measures over and over until I could play them at speed. I have transferred this mindset to my academics, meaning that I always go step by step, making sure each piece of the puzzle makes sense individually before moving forward. I can help you not only learn the material you're having trouble with, but also the skills to succeed going forward; learning how to learn is just as important as mastering a given subject.
