After college, and before I began my PhD, I spent several years working for a pharmaceutical company helping to make anti-cancer drugs. I have years of experience working in labs, putting my knowledge to practical use. During this time I have mentored undergraduates, teaching them experimental protocols as well as the underlying concepts. I find it useful to connect the concepts with their real-world applications in getting myself and my students motivated.
